Deputies: Couple Used Electric Cattle-Prod on Children
(Aiken County) - An Aiken County couple has been charged with repeatedly using an electric cattle prod to shock two young boys.
Kip Smith, 25, and Dana Smith, 30, were taken into custody. Kip Smith is charged with two counts of unlawful neglect by a legal custodian and cruelty to children. Dana Smith is charged with two counts of unlawful neglect by a legal custodian.
Officers say the incidents happened in June and July. They say the couple repeatedly used an electric hand-held cattle prod on the boys, who are ages 12 and 14.
Officers also say Kip Smith struck the victims with a can across the buttocks and legs back in March.
The victims now live with relatives.
Kip and Dana Smith are free on bond.

Thats cruel, I have seen those devices used on cattle and it certainly will make a 1500 pound Angus Bull do what you want him to. I cant imagine doing a child that way? 0 -

I've taken many a cattle prod shock, and it isn't that bad. What hurts is when you take the thing, and swing it like a ball bat. That hurts.

ive been zapped. did you know they have the batteries in those things at the store(i didnt[:D]) touched and the trigger my finger hurt and went numb
as for them i say hit them with a tazzer a couple dozen times before locking them up and then periodically in case they forget0 -
never have been zapped with a cattle prod, I'd like to try it. I did do a lawn service once with this *($&($&* electric lawn mower and crappy ass extension cord, I got shocked with 110 so many times it was starting to feel good. 0 -

Hey can I use that?
My older one gave me an attitude this morning. He wanted me to leave to take him to school about 2 minutes before I was ready. He got all ticked and started to yell. Before that, I got up early and made them breakfast, packed their luches, did the dishes and washed the clothes. (wife is out of town)
But I have a plan.[}:)]
I got a new alarm clock out of the closet and placed it on his bed. Then I called the school and found out what time the bus comes by. It is about an hour earlier than if we go by car. For the next week or so, he can wake up on his own, make his own breakfast and lunch and be on the bus an hour earlier. If he can't handle that, I figure he's not responsible enough to handle talking with and seeing his girlfriend, either.
Then we'll see if he wants to appreciate what we do for him and stop copping an attitude.

There's the incentive... and I'd not warn him of it, either. Spring it on him when he screws up. "You want to be an adult? You have to act like one." Good move IMO.0 -
