If you could.........
live your life in another period of time, would you?, and what would you choose?
I think if I had the chance I would like to live as a pirate. It makes sense to me, I love being on the ocean and I love to drink. But the lack of girls on the boats troubles me.
What period would you like to live in, not visit but live your life completely without knowing the future.

1930's up to now. I'm not looking forward to the next 40 years, the world and it's morals are all screwed up now, I can't imagine what the future will bring. But since i'm only 48, i'll be stuck with it I guess! 0 -
If I could choose ANY time at all I would go with two days before the day after tomorrow...

Ah Doug, The Freikorps is having a blast shooting Commies, but the crushing payments Germany is having to pay the Allies, especially the vicious French is killing the economy. The shortages and rationing of basic goods would depress you that you couldn't support your family. The crippled men returning home are pitiful to see.
There is one bright bit of hope to hang on to, a former soldier is speaking of the Kaiser and the crooked politicians that stabbed the army in the back. He claims to be an artist, but is a great public speaker. He claims that Germany will rise again to it's natural place among the great nations of the world. Adolf something is his name....0 -
It's 1933, and we are joined together in the Jugend. There is a bright future for der Vaterland, and I will be part of it. They have said I may become a pilot.
I attend rallies, and listen closely to my Leader.

Turn of the century in the 1900's. What a life to see all of the changes that were to come. Maybe meet John Moses Browning and Charles Garand.[^]
And, if I were able to know then what I know now, I would have bought all of the Coca Cola stock I could during the great depression![}:)]0 -
The roaring 60s, Dude it was a blast[^] 0 -

It's 1942 and we're on the Eastern front. Your sorties in your JU-87 are busting the hell out of Red Armor, but they always keep coming. Soon we will have a cannon pod to fit under your wing. It's starting to get cold and the maintenence men are having to build fires under your engine to keep the oil liquid. We still haven't been issued winter uniforms and the men are stealing the overcoats and boots off the dead Russians. This is not the cakewalk Herr Reichsmarshall promised. We should have finished England before invading the Soviet Union. Perhaps as soon as Gudurian and Paulus take Stalingrad, we can be done with this awful place.0 -
I would want to be back in the old west buy a lot of colt pistols new at 4 dollars each and land for a dollar an acre but my luck would be id be the guy that john Harding shot for snoring to loud... 0 -
Rosie, imagine your chances of finding a job in 1000 years.
Gotta be since the advent of INDOOR PLUMBING!!! No outhouses for me!
I am thinking late 1950's, early 1960's. Gonna invest in IBM, and when Microsoft does its IPO...0 -
I got hit in the left shoulder - a billion Reichsmark wound - and have been evacuated to the officers hospital in Obersalzberg.
They say they will repair me, and I should be able to serve my Leader again, within a few weeks.
Keitel wants me to be his personal pilot.

I'm pretty satisfied with the present. The good old days are fun to talk about, but I've been there. I'm just barely keeping up with new technology so I may have reached my limit for absorbing new things.
I'm comfortable, warm, dry, happy, kind of like an old dog lying by the fire.[:p]0
