Dumb Whiskey Question.
Ok, never drank whiskey in my life (yet), but after reading lots of posts on here about it figured I would give it a try.
I have a bottle of Makers Mark.
What are good ways to drink this?
I mean is it supposed to be room temp, over ice, chilled????
Straight or mixed? If mixed, with what?
Thanks

Gentlemen,
You are indeed judges of fine wiskey, and you have given good advice, two fingers over ice and just a splash of water. MM is good Bourbon, I sortof lean toward good Canadian blended or Jameson Irish wiskey, it's all good. Enjoy.

I don't like my whiskey straight. I mix it with sex. Joe 0 -

GOOD booze, like Maker's Mark, needs only ice, or a splash of water. Reminded me of a hike on the Appalachian Trail with an old friend- we made it to our campsite, he produced a bottle of MM, I got out my water filter, and we had TRUE bourbon and branch. [:p] 0 -
Like many others I like just a splash of water in my bourbon because I think this really "opens" it up. You can add ice if you prefer it on the rocks. Tap water is death itself to good bourbon because the iron and other chemicals destroys or maskes the whiskeys true taste. Makers Mark is a very good bourbon, perhaps the best of the widely marketed brands which are easily available. 0 -
Straight shot... just like in the Old West.[:D] 0 -
Straight up with a side of water. 0
