We used our Havahart trap to catch a raccoon that was tearing up our ducks and poopting all over our barn.

Ironically, after catching him with the Havehart, he received a bullet from my AR-15 while still in the trap.

What are you going to trap with those?
Might want to wire the "bait" to the inside back of the trap.

    Coons, yup, wire the bait.
I use steak or chicken bones, they would waltz in and waltz back out with the bone, never setting off the trap. Once I started wiring the bones to the back of the trap. Only had one get away. He must have been a BIG sucker. Imagine what it takes to "bend" that door open from the inside. Bent that thick wire running down the side, as well as the door.

    Good luck.

Had a cat coming arond and tracking on the top of the wifes Tahoe. Set have havaheart and caught him. Next morning saw black and white and for a minute thought I had the other kind of cat and was starting to figure a way to get him out of the carport with him spraying. Turns out just a cat.
Picked it all up and was headed out back to load him in the truck and haul him to the pound. Work phone rang, set the trap down out back and got involved with the phone call, call was winding down and noticed a crow in the pecan tree out back. Grabbed the 870 and got the crow, he crashed and burned just a few feet from the trap with the cat. Went in, wife had breakfast so started in on it, heard a racket out back and went to investigate. Seems most of the crows in Cleveland and Gaston County came to see what happened to the dead crow, thought the cat in the trap had something to do with it and were really giving the cat a talking to. Cat was really po'd and looked like if he could get out, some crows were gonna get it. Got the 870 out again, emptied it and got off 2 extra shot before the crows got out of range. 1 trap, got 1 cat and 9 crows. Crows went to the dump in a trash bag, cat went to the pound.
