Have them come in the back way, because it didn't set yet and now you have an excuse to stay off of it.

Funny you should mention that - she does use a walker some of the time and most of the time she uses a rascal. She gets zero exercise. They asked if they could bring the rascal. The design of my house really precludes using it so I am not sure what they are going to do. I hope they don't show because her husband is a complete idiot. Last year he thought the Turkey wasn't cooked enough so he put all the dark meet in the MICROWAVE for 30 MINUTES!

We used to let Darwin take his course.

But then, I'd have been dead for 14 years.

The upside is that I wouldn't have had to endure the last 14 years of marital misery with wifey.

It'll be fine SLIP.If you got it mudded right, you could put 3 of her on 1 marble tile,After only 12 hours...After 5 days,,, it'll be IMPOSABLE for her to break one!!
But that draws a mighty funny picture, in my "minds-eye"...[B)]

Crushed marble-dust footprints , in the fat-lady's wake!!!

I wouldn't worry about the floor, but rather the furniture. Fat people always go for the spinly small legged furniture.

jonk, no truer words have ever been spoken. I have friend who's 6 foot and 400+ pounds. The weight is bad, but his wideness is the worst part; I've seen him crack the arms off of several chairs. Whenever he comes over he makes a bee-line for the delicate wingbacks or the rocking chair, while the couch and hearth are steps away. One of my wife's friends brought her mother over once and she's as round as a bowling ball. Again, she went right for the delicate arm chair, and when she plunked down into it there was a loud crack.

I'm sorry but if you're so fat that mobility and furniture destruction are issues, you need to lose some @#@#^ weight.

The floor will see a higher psi loading from a 110 lb hottie in heels than a 500 lb. heifer in sneakers.

They actually say that a woman in high heels will put more weight per square inch than a loaded refridgerator, something like 2000lbs. per square inch

I know my math isn't all that great but isn't 100 pounds still 100 pounds no matter the foot print? I mean if a chick in heels stp on a bathroom scale it's not going to multiply the weight (personally think some scales out right lie but that's something else[:D]).

As for the 500 pound woman on walker gave me the glass of water visual from "Jurassic Park" with the T-Rex a stomping over yonder. I can imagine a glass of water at your gathering and all of the sudden someone notices a ripple. Then everyone there watches the glass of water.

As for the marble floor I'd hold off on it since I can see some people spilling red wine, gravy and everything else on it and staining it. But that's my worry on that.

elkaholic is right , it's the shoes that's the issue. The key with marble is to make sure you don't have any hollow spots under it, but she should be fine as long as she's not wearing heels.

Not many things funnier than making fun of a woman who is dieing a slow and miserable death. Yuck it now while ya can, at 500 lbs. congestive heart failure is right around the corner. Yep thats damn funny alright, and you're a real funny guy.

You have to look at it like this. 100lbs. is 100lbs. But if you take that 100 and put it on a high heel spike that is 1/2" diamater, you will have more force at that point. If you spread the weight out with the whole foot you will have less force.

If you need to borrow a harpoon, let me know, ya know, just in case she gets rowdy in her rascal.

One of the jobs is to design plastic parts that have to interact with both pedestrian foot traffic and vehicle traffic. The two limiting factors are psi loading and ground clearance. A woman in high heels has a higher pound per square foot (psi)loading than a fully loaded fire truck. For clearance testing we use a specific sports car (brain fart here on which one) that has an exceptionally low ground clearance.

I think the marble will be OK, unless the heavy girl shows up wearing the stiletto heels.
