Setting eBay buyer requirements (givette)

I noticed on a previous thread (re: eBay potential buyer) there was some discussion and misinformation about setting up buyer's requirements on an eBay account. There are a few things a seller can do to restrict particular bidders from bidding/buying.

If you set "bidder must have a PayPal account before bidding", this does not restrict the forms of payments you'll accept to just PayPal. It only restricts bidding to PayPal account holders.

    My activity on Ebay has dropped by 90% since i learned that they had banned the sale of "certain" gun parts. They forget the most important part of a gun is the person that is holding it. I was on looking for a mainspring for an old Winchester model 1873. I wrote to them and told them of the BS they were pulling. They didnt want to hear it, and gave me some BS pc line. You all know it....guns are bad, etc. When i responded with questioning about the other weapons and the pornography and other harmfull things they sell, their reply was it was decided by a commity or board and it was for everyones best interest. I am currently only using them to sell items that i no longer use to pay for guns that i wish to purchase. I no longer buy through them. I'll use them to get the guns i want(a Garand hopefully is my next).

    If my cash, or money order is not good enough, then your items are not good enough for me to bid on...

    Using Paypal supports the anti gun movement...Nice to know some "gun owners" stand in line with ones who are trying to take the guns away.....

    Kroger, Walgreens, Macy's, Kohl's and Sears to name a few, don't sell guns or ammo either; but, that doesn't mean I'm going to stop shopping at these stores for the items they do sell and for the items I do need or want.

    The point is those stores are not stopping anyone from buying at any of them...they dont say "you must have a sears card or macy's card to shop here....

    By saying you must have a paypal account to bid, that is exactly what you are doing....I wonder just how many ppl you have stopped from buying your products?...

    Paypal is a service...they do not sell items to the public...they provide a service only ...and then they start telling ppl what they can purchase with that service????? and by supporting them, using their service you are supporting the anti gun ppl...

    As soon as I heard of the ebay BS I closed both my pay-pal, and Ebay accounts. I then sent them both letters explaining that I would no longer be doing business with them. Sucks because I used to make some nice spending money selling stuff on ebay, but oh well.

    It does matter who or whom I've stopped from bidding on my item that are legit. Unfortunately, I've had winning bidders on eBay that did not pay. Evidently, you haven't. If there are precautions I can take to minimize this from happening, I'll take them. You can maintain a PayPal account and never use it. It does matter to me that at the end of my auction---I get paid by the winning bidder and the odds are, somewhat, better of being paid, if the winning bidder has a PayPal account.

    We did
    Ebay for over 5 years , only one non payer and that was on a very small cheap item.. Postal money order or cash was accepted methods of payment until Pay Pal came on the scene , seems everyone wants a peice of the E-bay Pie, then Ebay bought Pay pal, now they get an even bigger peice of the Pie.

    So what if you get a non payer,, you still have the Item, but it is a pain in the butt to get Ebay to credit your account.

    There are far too many FREE selling sites on the net to have to put up with all the delay and crap from Ebay...

    How can I set up my auction so that any suckass that has a Paypal account CANNOT bid?

    I personally will not do business with e-bay solely because of their anit-gun stance.

    Our company does not accept pay-pal because of their antigun stance.

    Got to draw the line somewhere.
