I could be wrong. But I was thinking that the Bushnell Trophy Red Dot's used 30mm rings.

30 millimeters is equal to about 1.18 inches. 1 inch rings will not work for the scope tube would be to big.

You may be mistaken the 1 x 28 to be the size of the scope.

1 = Power of magnification. In this case it would not magnify at all.
28 = The DIA of the lens opening.

Three things that needs to be considered when buying a scope.
Power of magnification, Lens Diameter and the Tube size. Which 99% of all scopes is either 1 inch or 30 mm.

Have you checked out the Leupold-Gilmore red-dot? It comes with rings.

I have an off-brand red dot around here that uses 1 inch rings.

Edit: Found it. It's marked "Target Sports". It's a 1x20. I'd go as far to guess that any 20mm red dot will fit 1" rings.

the 20 mm is the reticle diameter, the outside diameter of the tube is one inch.

ended up getting a Burris 2x20 scope. Will shoot it as soon as I load some 44's. It has nice eye relief on it though.
