I think it's great when someone puts it over on the eBay idiots. However, I did write a fellow who slipped through a shotgun reciever a couple of months ago that he was possibly inviting a visit from the friendly folks at BATF if he shipped to to a non-FFL.

There is no federal law that guns (even home made guns) have to be registered. The exceptions are NFA items. There is nothing wrong with selling "kits."

???? for you , is a thompson smg bolt w all appropriate parts w/o any serial number shown a legal part to sell to anyone ?

If so, ebay had one for sale a day or so ago, from NORWAY and the buyer stated it was from a WW II thompson machine gun left there by US Troops.

Part of what you say is absolutely true. But, it IS against the law to sell such. ALL firearms have to have a serial number now - homebuilt or not.

No problem selling bolts any more than selling barrels. RECEIVERS are the numbered and controlled parts.

Selling kits and 80% receivers is not YOUR problem or your business.

    Nice cased squareback Navy set.
Not likely to interest a gangbanger.
    I wouldn't blow any whistles.
It's shooting onesself in the foot.

Ebay will not aloow the sale of any magazine that holds more then ten rounds. That is their rule not federal law.

broad statements regarding firearms regs will give some persons who dont know any better incorrect info.

barrels, didnt specify, types involved - cut off ones ok to sell from what you just posted

Now that this has been blabbed, I am sure ebay will take whatever action they think they should. Ever hear "loose lips sinks ships?"

Nope, nothing wrong with selling kits (but that isn't what I wrote).

I wrote: "parts kits and 80% receivers"

On eBay, that IS a problem. [V]
Most 80% receivers are not as easy to finish as you think. There is still some seriouse work to do on them.

This always chaps my hide. [:(!]The anti-gun folks (morons) at eBay let another one slip through their screening. Don't you just love it when people refer to black powder firearms as "cap guns"?[:0]

Funny thing, as I see modern and antique firearms sold on eBay almost every day. At least they finally cracked down on the parts kits and 80% receivers. I'll bet that was a real poke in the eye when the good folks at eBay finally realized they were providing the venue for gang bangers to easily and cheaply obtain unregistered guns and parts sets.[B)]
First off by Federal law the Blackpowder pistol is not considered a firearm. At least it does not fall under the perview of the ATF Now if powder was included it would be of interest because black powder is an explosive.
Also few bangers use these types for crimes, and those that do have much easier ways to get firearms up to and including full auto weapons. That you seem so upset about this it makes me wonder why it bothers you so. Some idiot sold a black powder firearm to another idiot on a venue that doesn't allow it Big Hairy deal

I hope you don't really believe this.
you think a pants around the knees gang banger has the skills to finish a 80% reciever?
your statement is a slap at ALL internet firearms sales.

...like to see flea-bay sink huh? I detest their anti-gun stance and other moronic rules...but I have bought a lot of gun related items off of 'em...and some real steals too. I have sold several items at a decent profit also, so I would not care to see them "sink"...which considering their surging growth, is highly unlikely. Get used to 'em being around. Don't lik 'em?...stay away, simple...[;)]
