It is Federals Hydra-Shok. I think it was/is carried by the FBI but it might have been one of the other ABC gov groups. I believe it is the only ammo with the little thingy in the middle.

I prefer and carry Corbon as well.

This is the kind of ammo that gets loaded in a gun.

Huh? Cor-Bon for self defense loads? Why would you want to punch a clean hole through someone, when a hollow-point will produce considerably more soft tissue damage (and guarantee that they will drop)? Cor-Bon is known for hard cast projectiles that penetrate thick bone areas (like the skull, or shoulder blades of a bear, or wild boar). That seems about as practical as using armor piercing ammo for home defense. You better tell your neighbor to duck if they hear gunfire. [;)]

I think you may be confused. That's Cor-Bon, not bonded-core. I assure you that the Cor-Bon load I carry in my .45 is definitely not hard cast, or round nose.

Yup, Federal Hydra-Shoks. They have excellent expansion due to the stinger in the center. I carry this in most of my guns. Many police depts carry this round. It could be a 135g, 155g, 165g or 180 grain bullet as they make all of these weights.

Well the ones I am carrying now are round nosed but not hard cast http://www.dakotaammo.net/products/glaser/powrball.htm

I have put down many damage (hit by car) deer with their standard 9mm load. I picked up this PowerBall for my new gun but have not had a chance to use it on anything alive. From Corbon if they say it is good I believe it.

That is definately a Federal Hydra-Shok .40s&w but am I the only one here that likes Hornady Ammunition and Remington Golden Sabres for defense?

Heck, I prefer Triton QuickShock 135gr .40 S&W hollow-points: slugs that are scored vertically under the jacket as to cause fragmentation into 3 equally-sized 45gr shards upon impact. Simply "death ammo."

It is indeed a Federal Hydra shock bullet.

I had to put a cat down with one of those in 9MM. The result was utterly devestating. They are real expanders for sure. The cat never knew what hit it.

    .40 S & W

Fire them in a firearm chambered and labeled as such.

Copper end goes in the chamber first.

Can expect a loud noise and some recoil when the trigger is pulled.
