I've never owned a muzzle loader. I thought that starting with one over 150 years old might be interesting.

What is the name of it Jake? Here's mine....
It tosses 300 gr Hornady SST's into a 2" group at 100yds with a junk scope. The new scope(the one in the picture) is a Nikon ProStaff, the nicest scope I've had. I should be able to get MOA(1") accuracy with the new scope and rest that you see.
Think of it as kind of like reloading your own ammo. Different amount of powder do different things, all kinds of different bullets. It's alot of fun.

Yes, it is. There are still plenty of muzzle loading shotguns out there, and it was common to load military muskets with "buck and ball" loads.
Even loading cannon with shot is legal and common.0 -
