Problem with AIM Surplus order
So I ordered one of those CZ-82s from AIMsurplus.com. The pistol was marked as "Very Good" condition, the same as the Makarov that I purchased about a year ago from them, so I didn't think anything of it.
However, when I got the pistol today and looked at the barrel, it was totally SMOOTH. I am NOT exaggerating. The barrel of this pistol was as smooth as a musket barrel, there was ZERO rifling left.
Now my question is this: For a pistol that is NOT an antique and is not even C&R eligible, does the NRA rating of "VERY GOOD" mean that the barrel might be totally shot?
I would like to know before I get all steamed at AIM. Thanks for your all's help in advance.

Ask them if they will take it back. They seem to be decent people there. Perhaps with all the surplus out there they do not have time to inspect every detail on every weapon. I had a problem with them once and they fixed it just fine. 0 -

Ever look down the barrel of a new Glock?
What is the normal rifling form on a CZ-82? If it's a poly type you won't see the rifling.
I've only seen 1 rifled barrel that could be considered to have the rifling gone, (it is 120 years old, and was used as a "barn gun" for 75 of those years) and even than I can see some of the origional rifling.0 -
CZ-82's and CZ-83's in 9x18 have poly rifling. Can't hardly tell its there. 0 -
Ditto what's been said about smooth barrels. Go shoot the gun. You'll probably be amazed at it's accuracy. Watch for pins falling out when you take the grip panels off, as the CZ82 is famous for this.
Here's a piece of good news for you, if you where not aware, the 9mm Mak and .380 mags work in either gun. The only difference is the base plates in the older military Mak Mags.0 -

I feel like a total dumb@ss, actually. The few articles I had time to read regarding the CZ-82 up until now didn't mention the polygonal rifling (for whatever reason). My only experience in fact, so far, has been with the conventional rifling.
The very next piece I read this morning actually talked about it and showed a pic of what it looks like. I sent a letter already to AIM apologizing for jumping to conclusions.
