The most accurate dependable 40 calpistol you own?
I still have space for one more semi-auto pistol in my safe.
I like to stay with 40 cal. to make my reloading simple.
What is the very best pistol you've ever owned(and still made today) for accuract, reliability, durability and good feel in your hand to shoot?
thanks

Not in 40, but in 9 the CZ75 copy from Tanfoglio. Used to be the TA90, new version is the Witness. Same as a CZ97b. And, available in 9, 40, 10, 45, and 22lr. 0 -
My H&K USP in 40 S&W. 0 -
A SIGArms Pro Blue Line Model 2340, with interchangeable .357SIG barrel. Reliable and accurate in both calibers. 0 -
Half the cops I meet are using Glock 22. Must be a reason for that.
I luv mine[:)]0 -
I've had incredibly good luck with my Beretta Model 96. It's the .40 S&W version of the Model 92/M9 9mm the armed forces are using. It had a very good trigger right out of the box, has never jammed on me, even when I've used lead bullets, and keeps most of the rounds touching at 25 meters. I think it will probably shoot better than I can. I'd say it's on an even par with my tuned 1911A1. It's American made, too. 0 -
Forgive me everyone.
I should have post right from the start which pistols I already own, so you all could help me find a 40 cal that brand that I don't have(I'm looking for something by a different maker than my 4)
I have a Glock 23, a Springfield XD40 subcompact, A Beretta(Stoeger)8000 Cougar, and A Taurus Millenium Pro PT-40
thanks guys, any other makers really good?0 -
I noticed that you do not have a CZ-75. It's one of the only auto's that fit my hand properly and they are renowned for their accuracy and dependability. Here are a few from EAA:

HobbyGuy,
What about the Smith & Wesson 99(7" long with a 4" barrel?)
Mk 19,
I've long time drooled over various CZ's.
What about there other models less than 8" long? Like the CZ 75P-01,
CZ 100, and CZ 110?0 -
Browning Hi-Power silly.

CZ-100 in .40 (I would like to see one in .45 though), I had a Baby Eagle .40 for awhile, which was nice too but I didn't like the long barrel and I prefer to stick with the 9mm. 0 -
Beretta 96 0 -
Never had one problem with Glock, CZ, SIG, Ruger or Springfied's XD 0 -
Sig 239 0 -
Sig P226 or P229 0 -

Yes, you can also find compact versions that will work well for CC. I have not fired a CZ-100 or CZ 110 so I will not pass judgement on them. But if they continue with the quality of the CZ-75 they would also be great shooters.0 -
I picked up a .40S&W Sig229 the other week for my girlfriend. I took it to the range, put 150 rounds of FMJ through it, then 100 rounds of Federal 155 JHP to check function through it. Took my girlfriend to the range the next day and she put 50 rounds of FMJ and then 50 rounds of JHP to make sure they worked for her. She liked it (which was no surprise, since when she shot one before, she liked it), and it now lives at her apartment.
It's the only pistol chambered in .40S&W I own; I used to have an XD40, but got rid of it.
Well, technically, my 10mm Witness is .40 caliber...[:D]0 -

I have a Glock model 32 in 357 sig with a 40 cal barrel that drops right in. Its very reliable, but accurate, hummmmmm........I am not very good with any of my Glocks. But for defense its a good choice. Maybe not for target work. 0 -
Walther P-99 (not the S&W 99)
But make sure it has the trigger you want in it to start with, you can NOT change them later.0 -
