K&N any day of the week.

They've been around and proven themselves for a long time.

Went with AirForce1 on my '04 F20 and love it. I've had and installed about 6 K&N's and have no complaints.

I gained around 2 1/2 MPG with the K&N air filter on my 94 Chevvy 4WD with a 350. Gained close to 4 MPG when I put one on my new 03 GMC after running it 8 months with the factory filter.

I've been using K&N since the early '60s (on motorcycles) and later on cars.

    Always performed fine.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I've heard that Airraid uses K&N's filters then I guess uses their parts for the rest, not sure of any truth to this statement though, this was coming from the guy at the 4 wheel parts by me. ANyone know if there is any validity to this?

Ordered a K&N set-up for my Jeep yesterday. Ordered the Fuel Injection Performance Kit for $289 and the filter for another $68. What I read and have seen is that the filter by itself is OK and will add a little, but to really get the full "effect" you need to install the whole kit and kaboodle. Should be here early next week! Can't wait! Looks like, from the on-line installation instructions, that it will be no biggie to install the kit.

You are right as to the whole intake kit!

I should have said that is what I have on the Bronco and not just the filter.

My kit had everything from the intake manifold out to the filter (MAP sensor and all).

It does sound beefy when I step on the gas!

I also have a mallory high output ignition and complete flowmaster exaust to top it off.

I've got a K&N on my Merc. Made a noticable power increase instantly.

I have two questions about these aftermarket filters.

    1. Does increased airflow equal decreased filtration?

    2. Optimal combustion occurs at a specifica fuel-to-oxygen ratio. Why would higher air flow improve power if that ratio has to be maintained?

While just a K&N filter will help, adding a highflow exhaust will make the increases more noticeable.
