My truck is a financial vortex!

Bought my 76 For a few months ago. None of the gauges worked so I got them fixed accept for the speedometer. Have to what until the rearend gears come in for that. So I drove it around but the exhaust is funneled into my cab so instead of risking death I took it in to have a Flowmaster system installed. They found water in my oil so researched it and found a cracked gasket and 2 bad valves. The head is at the machine shop getting magna fluxed and it should be on the road by Friday.


I hate spending money on involuntary expenditures.

    Thats the downside to buying used. Buyer beware and you never know for sure what you are getting. The upside is you buy for a fraction of the price of something new. Its a bit of a crapshoot![:0]

    Doing the work yourself, especially on that old of a truck, is usually the most economical way to own one.

    Get the price of Auto Zone exchange units before you take a head or any other assembly to a machine shop and give them carte blanche.
    You should expect a 31 year old truck to need lotsa repairs.
    Use the internet for serviceable parts.

    Its a 76 Ford F-250 Highboy. They are becoming scarce so It is a good investment. My son found the truck and said he wanted it. He is 6 now and made me promise never to sell it so I will abide. As long as it needs repairs, I will provide them. Sometimes, I just wish life would give me a break. I would do them myself but My shop is not built yet. Soon, soon. Im gonna get a lift or a pit. Hell mabye both.
