The hi-tech gadgets will record each time a motorist DRIFTS over a speed limit, WANDERS into a bus lane or even STOPS on a yellow line.

The device should also sound an alert if the driver has consumed any measureable amount of alcohol, has driven within five miles of any land border, if the driver has spoken a single word inside the car critical of GW Bush and the war in Iraq, has spoken any language other than English inside the car or may be suspected of making some religious statement which is not directly related to an established Christian religion. 0 -

Aren't we closing in on it already? Newer cars have a computer that records constantly. In the event of a crash, the last few seconds can be called up. It helps the police determine who's at fault. And it gives me the willies. 0 -
