The Senate just overrode Kansas governor veto on ccw and letting citys adopting there own laws. Senate vote 30 to 10 Good job[:D][:D][:)][:p][^]

It always amazes me when a governor decides that their intelligence overrides the combined intelligence of the people of the state.
Another shining example in Kansas was when John Carlin vetoed the capital punishment bill. He stated at the time "The people of Kansas really don't know what they want." That was after a vote for capital punishment passed.
It's total arrogance and ignorance.0 -

That's not always true of the executive veto. The Democrat Mayor of our small city vetoed a draconian no smoking ordinance that seriously infringed on private property rights of business owners.0 -
I recently visited my Uncle in Lawrence KS and he was telling me that many of the stores were in the process of posting signs telling concealed carry permit holders they were not welcome.
Funny how the process repeats itself in many states. Gun owners then write the stores and raise heck and many of them will back off, especially after they see that their are no western style shootouts in the streets.0 -

Funny how such store owners suddenly have faith in signs. Signs that are directed only at peaceful, lawful citizens. I can't help but wonder why the sudden faith in signs. If signs are such a good idea and actually work, why didn't those store owners put up signs long before we in KS had CCW? Such signs as no bad checks, no shoplifting, no armed robberies, no being rude to clerks, etc.0 -

What amazed me about the gov's veto was that she voted to prevent cities from having their own laws concerning firearm transportation ... by her own words, (paraphrasing) We need uniform state wide regulation because a person transporting a firearm can become a criminal by just transporting a firearm from one city to another".
Then she turns around with this veto ... thank goodness her words made enough sense then that maybe some of the logic stuck.0 -
If each city can set their own ccw laws this will open the door to confusion as to what ,how and where you can legally carry. Sounds like a mess that in the long run you may not like. 0 -

That "mess" was the governor's veto that was voted down. The bill was to limit different cities and counties from setting their own rules.0 -
She just vetoed it because thats what her handlers/cronies in Overland Park Kansas wanted her to do. I'll be glad when this c**t is gone!
I emailed my senator and representative about the bill and one of them actually called me at home to talk about it. She was on our side.0
