Talk me out of it please.....
http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Enfield_2A_.308_NATO_Carbine.html
Been wanting one of these. Even posted about it in the experts forum a while back when I would have had to do the conversion myself. Finally decided on a M-38 Nagant instead. Now that I've seen this I'm considering selling the Nagant. I know it's stupid because I really like the Nagant but my gotta have it now button got pushed. Maybe a cold shower will help but I doubt it.

It is a sporterized military gun with an authentic festive pilgrim muzzle break......am I doing any good at talking you out of it?
My thing with any gun....if you have to sell something you like for something you MIGHT like...it will be a bad thing. You know the tales you hear every day about the gun I shouldn't have gotten rid of. You are getting into something like that I am afraid.0 -

I do have something to say about those Indian Enfields...
Beware.
I got one of the unaltered ones from AIM (even paid for handpick), and the one I got was trashed. Nasty black paint sloppily applied to random metal parts. Front sight canted to the right. Rear sight non-functional. Magazine lips were damaged such that it does not reliably feed. Stiff, cranky bolt. Stock had numerous crude, sloppy repairs.
Hopefully they select nice ones for the carbine conversion, but if the rifle I got qualified as a 'handpick,' then you are in for a serious letdown.
Sorry to spoil the fun! [:)]0 -

The black paint (slopped on with a mop[;)]) was the way it left the factory. That was Ishapore's finish on these 2A's. The handpick is only a handpick of the top 5 rifles in the stack. They don't go digging through the whole pallet to find you the best one. If those top 5 rifles are all crappy, then your handpick is gonna be crappy. With the way they do their handpick, I'd just take my chances without it. Not defending them but that's just the way it works there. I'm assuming that since they went to the trouble of doing work on the ones in the original post that they were in decent shape to begin with.

I've had several .303 Brit Jungle Carbines.
I loved them all, and should never have traded them off.
One day, I will have another.

If you buy it you will forever be chased by 10 ninja fags who never grow tired and will eventually catch you. 0 -

You've got to be kidding ... right?
A old gun, that has lost its C&R status because it was re-barreled ... then they put a megaphone on the end of it!
The icing is, if you get one, you have the very distinct honor of paying 28cents a round for some no-name surplus ammo!
Get a Mauser ... surplus ammo is like 6cents a round, and have some real fun!0 -
Thanks to all. I woke up this morning and the sudden urge to make a stupid sale and purchase are gone. Who says Internet forums are useless? 0 -
