It's That Time of Year Again!
How 'bout them Cowboys?!?!!
I love the middle of July when I go to the mailbox and find my season tickets to the Cowboys!

I think this year is gonna be a great year to be a fan. I've been a fan since the 60's and stick by the 'Boys through thick and thin. The cheerleaders are the "thin" part!

I have invited a few folks from here at Gunbroker to go to a game with me, but so far no takers. Probably tennis fans...
See you at the game!

Sorry Mat, but I hate Dallas.
I have ever since 1993 when they stole my team. I'll let you figure that out.[8D]0 -

Now that, is a beautiful sight![8D]0 -
RIP Whistling Ray? When did he die? I remember seeing him on TV, back when God (or Tom Landry for the uninitiated) was coaching. Haven't been a fan since Jerry "Loud mouth" Jones bought them and dumped God himself as the coach. 0 -
i always thought cheerleaders were like professional cheerleaders, not one girl on the tampa bay bucs team is a pro cheerleader!

Nope, wrong sport! Like I said, they stole the whole team. Plus, it was an ill advised trade by my favorite football team that helped you win all those championships in the 90's. Just think who's first round pick they used to get Troy Aikman.0 -

Whistling Ray (or Crazy Ray as he was also known) died this year after the season. He was a good man and entertained the kids with old fashioned integrity since the early days of the Cowboys. "Loud mouth" Jerry Jones paid for his funeral and gave him a big send off at Texas Stadium.
I'll never forget Ray and the Redskin's mascot hamming it up!!
End of an era. I am gonna miss him this year...0 -

The Stars used to have another word in front of it and used to be in another state.0 -
For eveyones information, I AM NOT an attorney. I am a catfish.[:D]
But really. Just a blue collar closet saints fan Oil,Gas, and Chemical Inspector.[;)]
The best thing about football season is that hunting season ain't that far away.
One of my best memories is sittin' in a duck blind in the Atchafalaya Basin, sippin' Irish coffee on a cool winter day, listening to the LSU Tigers play a home game in Deaf Valley on the AM radio.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!0 -

Well...that was nice of him. Still can't forgive him for the classless way he let Landry go. Jones did OK when he hired Johnson, but then their ego's couldn't co-exist. He deserves all he has gotten since then, except the Super Bowl the good 'ol boy Switzer lucked into.
GO TITANS! [:D]0 -
...Forgive Jones? For what?? Do you not think Landry of all people, knew how the "game" was played?? That having been said, I did not care for the way Landry was "benched" but then I don't have a few hundred million invested in an NFL team either.
...Pro ball is a BUSINESS, period. I knew a LOT of past Cowboys thru my business and they all knew they were a "comodity". Drew Pearson, Coach Landry, Robert Newhouse, TD, Randy White, Al Lavan (backfield coach w/Newhouse, Dorsett in backfield-Al went to SF after Jones and that year SF won the SB) and on and on.
...Of the of multitude of NFL associated people Ive known, Al and his family stand out as the only real "stars" a fantastic family, the kids are grown now. Al became a coach after he broke his neck with the Falcons (linebacker) and was told if he chose to play, he could end up dead or paralized.
...Landry was a class act, probably never to be matched...[;)]

I don't follow football, but from this thread, I have discovered something:
They allow NEGROES to play it !!
That is very tough to take.
