Anger can be a very useful and even lifesaving emotion.

That is not the case this time, let it go, the situation will eventually be resolved in favor of the children.

I think a lot of these "bomb threats" are being made by kids wanting to get out of school, at my kids school (before they graduated) the school would send all the kids out to the athletic field to wait while the school was searched, it was a little uncomforatble on a couple of Michigan fall mornings, but the kids were not released, but sent back to class as soon as the school was searched top to bottom. I don't think they have any threats anymore.

    Dawnie-

Good for you! Going to the next school board meeting is the thing to do.

Call other parents who share your feelings and get them to go with you. There is strength in numbers.

School boards make lots of rules thinking they know what is best for your child. Before you let them do that, look at the kids of the school board members to see what they are raising and decide for yourself who knows better for your child. If they are raising good kids, take their point in account. If they are raising jerks that have no morals or values or integrity, go with your gut.

Best way to decide in my book...

I don't lie to get my kids out of school.

I wrote a note to tell them I took my kid hunting and they told me that would be an unexcused absence. I told them that I could lie to them and the fact would be that I still took my kid hunting.

I told them my kid learned things while hunting, like family values and things about nature and if they though that was inexcusable, they could mark it down any way they wanted to, but I thought it was better to be honest than to teach my children that it is OK to lie to get what they wanted.

I honestly didn't care how they marked it down and I never checked any further. My kid and I both know we did the right thing.

If you signed them out at 11 and the principal "decided to start school again" at 12 looks to me like you can at least argue that when you left it was OK, and that changed after you were gone. That is if an unexcused absence is that important anyway. The most important thing is that the girls are safe - no harm no foul.

Had a couple of bomb threats here as well! Held the kids outside in the middle of winter, which in northern BC Canada can be a little cold. haven't had any since then, or pulled fire alarms either![:D]

Try to give the principal an excused extended absence from his job.

The girls hate it,and it scares the 7year old cause she hears bomb and she thinks about what Travis went through in Iraq, and she loves her Travis.
I told my sister I dont care how many threats they get, they will be pulled from school everytime.

I did kind of get an attitude with the girls high school principal,I said a bad a word and the girls mouth just flew open and looked at me and said I cant believe you just cus infront of our principal,I said better be glad I really didnt go off on him..They were....

My point exactly,,I had already signed them out and then he decided to resume class,,it should be an unexcussed
