I enjoy checking in here for the funny stories, Doc's gun pictures, the occasional arguments about politics, and other such things. It's a nice way to end or begin the day, to step away from the bills and the honey-do list and all the other unpleasant bits of life.
I have no problem with people sharing health problems they are having, a death in the family, work issues, and other such things. It's quite nice when everybody chimes in with a prayer or words of encouragement. Certainly a moment of our better angels.
It does wear me down, though, to log in and see posts about horrific crimes. Stories about little old ladies being gang raped and beaten to death, stories about babies being burned alive, stories about animals deliberately starved to death.
Everybody knows these things happen. Every other newspaper has some story that is just terrible. The barbaric nature of humans has been well documented in history, and nobody with any sense thinks the future is going to be any different. It's an ugly, sad part of life.
But still, do we have to do it here? I simply don't see what it adds to the forum, and for me at least, it certainly takes a whole lot away.

Have you ever had a thought about a thought, then lost that thought?[:0] 0 -
Dakota308,
Please excuse one of our younger members who has a control problem.
I am moving this over the General Discussion forum where the number of responses is not limited and you'll inevitably get larger cross section of opinions.
