Sick and Tired
I'm so sick and tired of the crap going on in the
gov't that I've finally gone into saturation.
They have won,I give up.

Man I am to old, and to tired for the crap that's going on. Custody battles, petty bickering, everyone trying to one up the other, or just out right nasty "hurt you worst then you can hurt me" mentallity. I'm sick of it. Problem being, it's only just getting started.
At this point in time, niether my kid, or his ex deserve my grandson. I'm pissed, and nobody seems to understand why. I keep telling them they don't have to get along, just be civil to each other when it comes to the boy. They got at least 16 more years of being in each others lives, so if they keep this crap up, it's going to be a long, hurtfull, and ugly 16 years. And to top it all off, my wife is telling me I'm living in a fantasy world thinking the way I do because only about 2% of all couples that split get along.
Right now I'm about ready to tell them all to go to H ell. I'll take the kid, and we'll be fine till everyone else can grow the freakin hell up!
I'm done.0 -

X-ring. That's what I've been trying to tell my kid. So far, it seems I'm talking to myself.0 -
This bickering in front of the child is a clear form of child abuse. Think of the stress the little fella is going through. I know these things personally as I have temporary custody of my grandchildren, and all this fighting screws them up. They need a stable enviroment to grow in. Tell them to straighten up or your going to call the law and get DHS involved. In my case DHS is the greatest thing for my grandkids. 0 -

+1 - BTDT, have the son to prove it.
Good on you jc. Tell your boy to grow up and think about his child rather than being a child himself. Seems there are a lot of grandparents raising grandchildren these days because the parents have bought into this "me, me, me" BS. More liberal horse crap - forget individual responsibility, do what ya wanta do and the devil take the hindmost. This nation is going to be wiped off the face of the earth if we don't expunge this liberal mindset soon. It won't even need Iranian nukes or invading hordes of ignorant peons to happen, the freaking lefties will do it all for them. [:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!]0 -
My wife has a son from a former marriage. She is very careful not to badmouth her ex in front of her son. Her ex badmouths her in front of him all the time. He is 14 now and just realizing what kind of person his biological father really is. He does not like to visit his biological father but feels obligated. So he goes. 0 -
You kep your cajones, JC. You are the man in the situation. Take your boy out behind the woodshed and "explain" to him who's right.
Keep your chin up !!!!!0 -

That would be great if that were the case but the truth is they got a lot more years than that to worry about. What about when the kid gets married they'll be seeing each other then at the wedding. Then when the kid has a baby they'll see each other at the hospital again. When the baby gets sick and goes to the hospital they'll probably run into each other again and don't forget birthday parties and school plays and it don't stop there because those Grand babies will be having kids themselves someday so get ready to see them until death. Marriage is until death one way or the other.
When I went to get married back in the 60's as a young lad I asked an old man outside the courthouse in Robinsonville, NC how much it cost to get married there. He said with a laugh, Son you only make the down payment here 'cause your gonna pay for it the rest of your life. Man was he ever right.[:(]

You're doing the right thing. Don't know how old the grandson is, but a few words from you could make all the difference in his life. Offer him clarity, perspective and a refuge from the cr@p. They are unbelieveably resiliant. Then, when he's out of the room, give the son a good arse whippin'.0 -
My son and his certifiably cuckoo (yes, there are mental-health medical records to prove it) wife are splitting up -- her decision, not his. She's being a nasty ol' beach about it. Her petition says their three kids (my grandkids) can't go anywhere to receive care where there are guns in the household. (I have about 200, give or take a dozen.) She's just doing it to be nasty, even though my wife and I have been nothing but kind to her (including helping pay for her college when her own family wasn't even communicating with her). She needs to be careful what she wishes for -- with the right to hunt a constitutional right in Minnesota (yes, actually an amendment to the state constitution), she may find herself without child care, because guns are everywhere outside the Twin Cities. What's even odder, I take care of the grandkids all the time and she doesn't seem at all to mind the free sitter. She's just angry and trying to take it out on my son, who so far is managing to be very calm and reasonable about the situation. (This, by the way, is the same woman who listed my son's folding engine hoist in her petition as having a value of $10,000. He provided his attorney with a catalog showing it actually is worth $129.95. He said she gladly can have it for a mere half of her stated price. Cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo.)[}:)][}:)][}:)] 0 -

Nice post there, spin doctor.[;)]
How can you turn something as simple as a couple of loser parents, into something political?0 -
Pistol -
It IS political.
Almost everything we deal with in life has some political connection.
I have taught my six Kids to analyze nearly everything from that perspective.
If you can't see it, email me and I'll explain.
Doug0 -
Only a political spin if one chooses to view it that way.
Sorry for the kids, jc.0 -
I see "spin" as being a distortion of the truth.
I try to analyze whatever information I'm presented by assuming that it is true, verifying its' truth, and then looking at its' political orientation.
I do my level best to be objective. For instance, I'm in favor of legalizing all drugs. This is not a traditionally conservative view, but it is the only view that makes any sense at all.
I also believe in the strictest interpretation of the Second Ammendment, which I believe is: No restrictions on personal possession of any firearm.
These are heartfelt beliefs, based on my education, experience, and knowledge. There is no "spin".

sir, i'm sorry for the situation that you and your family are going through. it is never easy on anyone. but i do have a question for you sir. how old are you and how old is the grandchild? i ask this because if it seems like it is going to get tougher on the kid, you can petition for temporary custody to remove him from the bad situation and set up visitation rights with both your son and his mother, either separately or together, under your supervision if needed, until they can end their situation ammicably (hope i spelled that right). talk to both about it and see if they would be willing to do it or tell them point blank that you are going do it emphasizing that it is for the childs benefit. are her folks nearby too? get them involved for the kids sake. as it seems to me, they both seem headstrong and narrow in thinking sometimes forgetting about the child or sometimes using him as fodder, either way they both have a point to make to the other and it is ripping the little boy in two. he needs to be on neutral ground so the parents can fight all they want. hell put them into a boxing ring and let them duke it out, but the boy doesn't need to see it.0 -
Good luck jc. I hope you get some sense through your son soon. Hopefully his ex gets a clue, too. 0 -
Thanks fro all the well wishing, and support guys. I appreciate it. And I'm sure if the grandson could type, he's tell you the same.
Thanks.0 -

Exactly why I quit doing divorces.
You have to have a license to drive a car, but anybody can have a kid.0
