  Every leo i have talked to said its pretty much up to them but traveling was considering entering 3 or more counties.

  You have to license guns in Texas? Why is it illegal to just have a gun in your vehicle down there? Or can you have one in the vehicle but it can't be concealed without having a carry permit?

  I called a couple police departments here in Texas about his very issue. They all told me traveling equals into a over night stay while crossing two counties.
  
  I also asked how to legally carry my firearms if I'm transporting them to the range or something like that. They told me to keep the bullets and guns seperate and put the guns in the truck and out of reach from the driver.
  
  I've heard police have been told that if at anytime there is a question about whether a person is "traveling" or not to arrest them and let the courts make the decision. Complete crap if you ask me. What about my time wasted and also being in jail? How do I go about telling my boss I just got arrested? They need some clear cut rules on this matter.

  The law in Texas was recently changed and "traveling" was defined. If you are going from any one point to another in your vehicle, you are traveling. That means from your driveway to the next door neighbors.
  
  We knew there would be a challenge from the anti's, but they will loose.

  It's an affirmative defense to prosecution that you are travelling.
  
  You should still get the CCW in Texas. You could spend a lot of money on one of them there "affirmative" defenses.
  
  Under the law as written the cops are well within the law to arrest, and the DA's to prosecute.
