Weaver V 24 Scope for a 50BMG?

Anyone have any luck putting a Weaver V24 scope on a AR-50? I know alot of people will tell me to go spend $1500 on other scopes, but I'm just got the rifle and will be saving my money for a higher priced scope later. A V24 I can get now and then switch over to another gun later when I get a higher priced scope for the 50. Thanks

    I have a good friend that builds 50 BMG rifles for a living. When I ran his Gun shop for him we sold Weaver V series scopes. He still sells quite a few. We have sold at least 100 Weaver V24 scopes for the 50 bmg and have not had a single return or problem! When he first started, his sight in scope that went on EVERY rifle for 5-7 test shots was a V24 it is now on his Cooper 223AI. We have probably sold 200-300 V24 and V16 scopes and have only had 1 bad scope. That was smashed in shipping and was replaced by the wholesaler. I shoot several of them on rifles and really like them.
