What a great new year.
I'm having one of the best new years ever!!! Kissed and made up with my best friend and now I just made some money. I have a 1968 and a 1978 John Deere and a 1960 bolens mower I restored awhile back, not to resell. I just like to work on things, I don't sleep much so I spend alot of time in the garage late at night. I sold all three for 1400, I only had 400 in everything. I did have alot of shop time in them, but I enjoyed that. Plus the two guys said they were really impress with my mehanical skills. I had a jet ski apart on the bench and they were really impressed with what I was doing to that. They said I was a catch and a half and if they weren't married....... They were really furtie old men, but they were so cute in doing it.
And on top of all this I have a Jeep I've been tinkering with, one of the problems it has(it has many) was a bad dead spot off idle. Today I found that the vacuim line off the distibutor was on the carb. I'm not an auto mechanic, but I know you have to have a good consisent vacium for your vacuim timing advance and the carb is not it. I move it to the engine and now it doesn't hesitate. I runs so much better.

Traci, you are a better person than I am. I won't even change my own oil in my vehicles, I let a shop do it for me. Don't really mind working on things as long as I don't have to lay on the floor underneath it. I had my wife help me once when I had to get under a vehicle. She says, "Never Again" would she do that, because I get to cranky.[:D]

I'm going to need some help in the future on my Ranger...when I pull the running gear out from under it and stick in a 3.8L V6 (maybe even supercharged) I'd love to have a little help with the engine build. The plan is to get a crate engine and build it up before I put it in.0 -
