Most likely it's AC and the whole central air system. I don't know enough about it, but it seems that at any office with central AC more people get sick, all about the same time too.

It's been a bad year for allergies all around. Those of us in drought areas are feeling the effects of more dust and airborne pollen, while those getting the record rain fall are dealing with an explosion of mold allergies. The air filters in my AC unit having been lasting a third as long as they usually do.

Pollen counts are sky high, smoke and dust in the air. Haft my patient load has something to do with allergies, sinus or ear infections. I'll be glad when the first frost comes.

Ive noticed quite sensibly that by not using my HANDS in public to push open doors, hold stair rails etc and literally wiping off shopping cart handles greatly reduces the chances of getting these viruses.Think about this the next time you enter/exit restrooms, grocery stores, filling stations and the post office.

I live in Washington and I don't know what you are talking about.
I currently do not know of anyone with a cold and I have not had one myself for as long as I can remember. 10 years minimum.
