I swear by chiropractors. Have gone to them regularly for over 43 years. It doesn't take much for a subluxation to occur and cause a lot of pain. Very often, what are thought to be pinched nerves are actually subluxations of the spine and/or cervical column. IMO, simple manipulation of the vertebra over a couple of visits is much better than suffering any longer than one has to. Good luck! Feel better.

Good luck with this problem, Dawnie.

Chiropractic is a load of psuedo-scientific BS. It is also potentially dangerous to your health - many people have suffered irreversible damage at the hands of chiropractors. My advice is that you seek a real doctor.

I have scientific evidence that oral sex is the cure.

No my significant other doesn't do it either....therefor odds are 50-50 that it will fix the problem.

That's better odds than medications or a doctor.

Chiropractors are wonderful people. They can save you a lot of pain, agony, and money, as their practice is an excellent alternative to surgery and medication.

I'm walking today because of chiropractors. Being about 25 pounds underweight for 2 years of high school and playing four quarters of varsity football really took a tool on my body.

My mom went through a similar situation to yours, actually identical. She went to a regular doctor early in the day and all the "real" doctor did was prescribe a bunch of pain meds and some x-rays and all that mumbo jumbo. Apparently he needed to make payments on his new SUV. [}:)][:D]

She went to the crack-opractor ASAP and she was much better the next day.

Hope you don't have a torn rotator cuff.

Happened to my wife last year; chiro visits didn't help --

She went through 16 weeks of physical therapy and is finally feeling better.

I think it is really hit and miss. I tried chiropractors for a couple of years. Usually 1 hr after they "adjusted" my back it went right back to where it was even after regular visits. Finally quit wasting my money. That is not to say it doesn't work for some people. It's just not for everyone.

Sleep on a hot pad tonight, it always helps me when I have a shoulder that acts up.

FYI, many full-blown medical doctors have now opted to add the distinction of "D.O." to their existing title. Simply put, they have added one full year of chiropractic study and training to their current medical education, training and background. I'd say that is somewhat of an endorsement of chiropractics.

Actually you should not be on a hot pad more than about 20 minutes at a time without a break. The heat can cause edema.

Glad to hear you're doing better. Ribs can be nasty to put back in. Hope you continue to get better, I'd say ice the snot out of that area. Help keep any swelling down and numbs it after awhile.

Did the same thing from a truck wreck when young. Might want to get one of those large ace bandages and wrap it for a few days. Not too tight.

Hope it stays put for you. After 9 concusions including getting almost run over by a semi, my neck and shoulders are a mess. Sometimes all I have to do is turn my head and something will pop out of place. Dave

Glad you got straightened out, Dawnie.
Chiropractors are great. I wouldn't be able to walk without them.
I am fed up with orthopedists. They will shoot xrays and give you a scrip for muscle relaxers.
If that doesn't work, after two months, you may qualify for surgery. How do you know if you are qualified for surgery?
You are qualified if you have the money to pay for it.
Get your back operated on by an orthopedist and you will probably be crippled for life.
But, a doc has got to make payments on his SUV.

I am feeling alot better today.I am about 75% there. I can lift my head more today then yesterday.
I was actually able to wash my hair today and not just wet it down, that makes me feel better.

Nunn said it was kind of cool seeing the rib stcking out glad i didnt see it.
This was the first time I have ever been to the chiropractor and if I am ever in that much pain again I will go again.
