Funny Military Directive
Real or not? I don't know, but it is funny.

The following directive was issued by the commanding officer of all naval installations in the Middle East . (It was obviously directed at the Marines.)
To: All Commands
Subject: Inappropriate T-Shirts
Ref: ComMidEast For Inst 16134//24 K All commanders promulgate upon receipt.
The following T-shirts are no longer to be worn on or off base by any military or civilian personnel serving in the Middle East:
a. "Eat Pork or Die" [both English and Arabic versions]
b. "Shrine Busters" [Various. Show burning minarets or bomb/artillery shells impacting Islamic shrines. Some with unit logos.]
c. "Napalm, Sticks Like Crazy" [Both English and Arabic versions]
d. "Goat - it isn't just for breakfast any more." [Both English and Arabic versions]
e. "The road to Paradise begins with me." [Mostly Arabic versions, but some in English. Some show sniper scope cross-hairs.]
f. "Guns don't kill people. I kill people." [Both Arabic and English versions]
g. "Pork. The other white meat." [Arabic version]

The above T-shirts are to be removed from Post Exchanges upon receipt of this directive. In addition, the following signs are to be removed upon receipt of this message:

0800 Daily."

Funny, but I question whether it really happened.

I would like to have a few of those T-shirts. If any of your friends want to get rid of them, due to this directive, they can send them to me. 0 -

While trying to snopes this, I came across a funny one about French washing instuctions on t-shirts:

i use to write msg's. its fake, but cool. 0 -
I agree. I have written hundreds of mssgs, and this in nowhere near the correct format or language.
good luck0 -
for one thing......
ALL MILITARY MSG'S ARE IN CAP'S AND END WITH A CLASSIFICATION LEVEL.0 -
Great ideas for bumper stickers, too. Think I'll place an order.

I doubt it's real. Too detailed and detail leaves room for exception.
Example,
b. "Shrine Busters" [Various. Show burning minarets or bomb/artillery shells impacting Islamic shrines. Some with unit logos.
That would exclude me wearing one that said "Shrine Bombers". That's not how the military works. Orders come down that says don't wear inflammatory T-Shirts. Enough said, and everyone knows what it means and what will happen if you disobey the order.0 -

sorry, the directive was real. That format may not have been what was released, but the message that was put out was real.0 -
Then, if it was UNCLASS, post a copy of the original. Are you saying that you personally saw the original??
And by the way, any mssg so politically sensitive would have been at least CONF.
Until you prove it, it is presumed to be a fake.0 -

I am going to agree with Rogue Rob. Even if the fact that it was a message is real or not, I can tell you that you can buy shirts like that over seas. The example that I clearly remember was in Pusan Korea they commonly sold T-shirts like this, down on Texas street. The one shirt I distinctly remember the Navy getting pissed off about was a shirt that had an picture of an Atom bomb mushroom cloud, the shirt said, "Made in the U.S.A." on the top, and "tested in Japan" on the back. I used to have the "Guns don't kill people, I kill people". shirt. I got rid of it after I was driving down the interstate and I saw a little old lady with a flat tire, and I pulled over and offered to help, well I was wearing that shirt at the time...
You can probably go buy the shirt that says "infidel" at any mall in America, and if any of you think it is unlikely that some unit out there had a T-shirt that read "the road to paradise begins with me", then you haven't spent much time around military bases lately.0
