Man Accidentally Shoots Self in Buttocks
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- A Scottsdale man inadvertently shot himself in the buttocks Thursday morning. Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said Daniel Leatherman, 26, heard a disturbance outside his apartment and saw a man he knew fighting with a cab driver.
Leatherman told police that the man, Cody Nunn, 25, had assaulted him in the past, so he grabbed his gun and went outside.
Leatherman told police that he accidentally dropped the gun while hiding it behind his back and shot himself in the derriere.
Nunn and Leatherman's friends took him to a local hospital. When police arrived, Clark said Nunn was drunk and disruptive. He was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
Leatherman was released from the hospital later Thursday. There were no phone listings for Leatherman or Nunn.
I guess his gun didn't pass the "drop test"

i've told this story before, but here goes again
i had a friend that heard a burglar early in the morning, he grabbed his amt back up .380, as he put it in his back pocket he pushed in on the grip safety, the trigger hit a key, and BAM fmj through the cheek, nicked his ankle, i had warned him several times that i did not like the design of them, his claim was "it has a grip safety"0 -

The DAO AMT is the only one you would want. Properly 'smithed, it's a smooth piece.0 -

How'd you know?? you see pics?0 -
I've loved the AMT .380 Back Ups that I've had.
Carried them cocked and locked for years with confidence and nary a problem.
I wish my current carry firearms had grip safeties.

I forgot the SA had a safety. It's also way slimmer than the DAO model.
That SA was the second gun I bought; it was uncomfortable, to this greenhorn.
The hammer cracked, the 'smith claimed the striker was bent [?] , and I
moved on to something with a little more grip to it.
A cop bought it off me after it was fixed.
I eventually came to prefer my pocket guns have an all-the-time DA trigger.0 -
