Deactivated WWII Thompson M1A1
I'm looking for a deactivated WWI Thompson M1A1. I see several for sale in the UK, but can't seem to find one in the US. Has anyone had experience purchasing deactivated guns from the UK? Are they allowed to ship to the US? Any good sources for deactivated WWII guns in the US? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Be VERY sure that the UK way of deactivating guns equals or surpasses the US way of deactivating guns.
I know the US demands the receiver and or bolt to be FLAME-CUT in two different places, removing/burning away a certain amount of metal, in order to be deactivated.
I think the UK way is not as harch.
Also in europe, the barrel itself is often considered a weaponspart - whereas in the US a barrel is just a "stick" unless it's inserted in a receiver.
Weaponparts in Europe are sometimes licenced and also demanded to be destroyed or cut when the gun is deactivated.
In Denmark for instance.
The receiver and bolt are cut, weakening the structure.
The barrel is cut length-wise from thambermouth to barrel muzzle through one side of the barrel - 1mm material is removed.
A danish deactivated gun would never pass as deactivated in the US.0 -
...Not an M1A1, but this guy often has 1928s for sale. I believe a forum member (Blckhrn) has bought from him and was pleased.
