"not a bobski" mystery thing
..Never knew my grandad, as he died just after I was born. He was a blacksmith, made horseshoes, ornamental ironwork and such. I've begun sifting through his tools, and though many are self crafted, there are a few odd ones that aren't. I can't give bobski a run for the "mystery" title, but I'll post a few as I run across them.

I want to say it's for making chain links, but I'd have to refer to one of my old blacksmithing books to be sure.

To me it looks like a shoe puller for removing horse shoes. By the way, I love this game! 0 -
Does anyone remember the TV show "The Liar's Club"? It had Larry Hovis on it (from "Hogan's Heroes"). They would have weird stuff like this and each person would explain what it was. They were all making it up except for one and the guests had to guess who was telling the truth. I loved that show and you learned a lot, too! 0 -
...Hard to see in in the pic, but one of the ends has a dovetail, like you'd see on Weaver rings. The opposing face has a horizontal groove across it. When the handles are fully closed, the faces are about 3/4" apart. An adjustment screw will let the gap widen some. 0
