Anyone spent enough time there to know, places to see,eat,or stay away from ?

Been there, but my sircumstances did not allow me to see much!

I did get to go into the palace while there! It was quite a sit even after the Iraqis had looted the place!

Was there in '97 but only spent 1 day at Camp Doha. The rest of the time was at a Kuwaiti airbase. Didn't get to do any sightseeing.

I spent few tours at Al Jaber during the first Gulf War but cannot remember the little restaurants. However, one of the best spread of native food I had was at the Kuwait Towers. I also use to fish the pier next to it.

It was one of those cultural/host nation awareness thing sponsored by our Services Squadron.

The Emerald (I think) Palace and the camel races are also nice place to visit.

All I can say is go to the Kuwait Towers. Best 8 Dinar you'll spend while there.

I was there just long enough to catch a flight to Baghdad. To answer your question, try the hummus and stay the hell out of Iraq. [;)]
