Who hates wonder bread ?
Who hates wonder bread ?
Apparently the wife does. [:0]
Although I make the bread myself [when not called up for work] I really do like wonder bread , but for some reason she does not.
Are any of you here like that?

What is Wonder Bread ??
I will hate it for a dime, or, conversely, will love it for a quarter.
Offers ??

Is that anything like wonder bra's I like them, give a lift that keep on giving[:D][:D][:D][:D] I like wonder bread also. 0 -
Wonder Bread... Isn't that prison slang? 0 -
helps build bodies 12 ways. it was a staple food growing up.
has no real substance other than it looks like bread. pour water on it and it turns to paste...but makes great grilled cheese sandwiches.[:p]0 -
I like it, but some iddish people I know, call it "Gummi-Brotchen" or "Gummy-Bread". 0 -
Wonder bread is the greatest thing since sliced bread[;)] 0 -
I like all bread... except rye.
My mother used to threaten me when I was a kid -- that I'd be sent to prison and only be fed bread and water.
I was wondering what the big deal was -- I'd sign up for that in a second.0 -
I remember bread...vaguely....isn't that the fluffy white (or brown) squares you can put food on. Having three kids there hasn't been ACTUAL bread available for a while now. I buy it...I know it WAS there....but for some reason if I ever think I may get any all I can find is the little plastic sleave that WAS full of bread.
I have become kind of used to "cracker sammiches" now.0 -
the new "whole grain white" is the bomb, is is as close as you will get to homemade bread from a manufacturer
never met a bread i didn't like0 -
...Might be regional? Always have had Wonder around here. I used to eat Mrs Bairds bread, very good for store bought. Of course the bakery was in Dallas; drive by in the morning and be in heaven!
...I have not eaten but 2-3 slices of store bought bread in almost 2 years. I learned to make homemade bread, very easy once you learn, then you can expand into some REALLY good breads, mmmm. I make 4 loaves a week, and give away 2...[^]

..Bread should not stick to the roof of your mouth...especially without PB. I "wonder" where they get off calling that stuff bread.
..A good compromise is the frozen dough from the store. Let it thaw and rise for 6-7 hours, and it bakes up into something resembling home-made.0 -
I have a ten or twelve year old bread machine that just keeps kicking out good stuff. I like rye, sourdough, and cracked wheat, for just every day bread, but once in awhile I'll mess around with the recipe - like using Spicy V8 for the liquid, or throwing unusual bits and pieces of edible stuff in.
I make two or three loaves a week, and eat it all.
Gotta use butter on it.

I have Wonder Buns, does that count? 0 -
...Doug, I'll have to try the V-8 in bread.. I drink a can or two everyday. The picante flavor is pretty good. It has a bit less celery taste to it. Try mixing in shredded chedder and garlic.
...+1 on the butter. Enough real butter can almost make Wonder bread edible. Almost.0 -

Cheddar & garlic sounds tasty. I'll try it.
I've put chili in it - really like dark rye with chopped onion, worcestershire and horseradish.
I've tried lots of stuff and mostly like it all - how about sourdough with raisins, cinnamon and Splenda ??

I use wonderbread to filter wood alchol and make it nonpoisonous. Danielle 0 -

try this
thaw out the bread, cut it into about a dozen pieces, mix well 1 egg, then put into your pan let it rise and cook
you'll love what it does to the bread, bakeries sell it as cobble stone0 -
All the bread in the pan at once ??
Egg over the bread, on the bread, or in the bread ??
Sounds good.
Doug0 -
.."Onion, worcestershire and horseradish"
..I'm all over that one. Sounds great. Cathy hates horseradish, but so what? I'm the cook. I'll make what sounds good. I slip about three tablespoons of horseradish and a cup of applesauce into meatloaf, and she never knows the difference.0 -

mix the chopped dough in a bowl with the egg, then put in the pan to rise0 -
...Sounds like it'll give the bread a nice "egg wash" kind of glaze, with a shiny, crusty top. Damn, now I want some fresh, warm bread. 0 -

it does indeed, but it what it does to the inside is what makes it great, i can hog a loaf to myself0 -
I think this thread became hijacked, and should be renamed "Old Farts Kookin' Korner".

..Thread? How 'bout a new "recipe/cooking board?" To stay on topic, Wonder still tastes like something concocted in a lab. (possibly soylent green, though I don't know what Edward G. Robinson tastes like)0
