Just curious, what is that item in your signature block? I can't seem to figure it out.[:I]

Two Civil War era bullets that have met mid flight and bonded together. There are many examples of them at several of the museums around the country.[:)] 0 -
...I've been watching a show called "Best Places to Find Cash and Treasure", on, I think, the travel channel. They had a segment on Civil War relics, and showed fused Minie balls. Also, a US belt buckle with a chunk blown out of it by a bullet strike. An abdomen hit in that day was probably fatal.
...It's an interesting show, and Becky Worley, the host, is pretty easy on the eyes too.0 -
O.K., Thanks for your quick response. I saw another thread here talking about it, but I guess I never caught the big picture![:I] Get it?[;)][:D][:D][:I] 0 -
Mythbusters did a segment on this recently....It was quite interesting. 0 -

... the Gettysburg museum when I was there almost 40 years ago
I used to go to the G/museum every chance I got when I worked in PA during the summers. One of my favorite things to see there was a long table full of broken teeth - and as I recall - some vertebrae with broken knife blades protruding from them. It was in close proximity to a display of bent rifle barrels - bent from soldiers using their muskets as clubs.
I took a girlfriend out to see the museum sometime in the 70's and was told they had been removed because of complaints from 'the gentler visitors.' I still can't believe it - a war museum.
If you've ever seen it ... it's something that you wouldn' forget[8D]0 -
...Those clowns on Mythbusters manage to screw up anything related to firearms. The "bullet fired into a revolver chamber" was on last night. When they couldn't get it to work, they made the comment that the 9mm bullet was too big to fit into the .38 Sp. chamber....Ummm, a .355 bullet will fit into a .357 hole.....As long as they keep blowing stuff up though, I'll watch it sometimes. 0
