Didn't look that deep
After a good afternoon of shooting, me, two other crew chiefs, and an ECM guy were driving around. We decided to turn around and go back to the apartment for a few beers. Well, it didn't look that deep from the road, the tops of the weeds were the same height at the weeds in the field next to the ditch. Got high-centered in the snow.
Doesn't look that bad from the pics, but she was stuck good. I hit that ditch doing about 30, she was impacted in. Had to get drug out.

Probably would have made it through ok if you were doing 40 or 50. 30 is a bit to slow.[8D][:o)] 0 -

The way the weather's been, most of the deep snow's gone, except in that one ditch. Notice the Wisconsin plates? I should've known better. 0 -

Everything gets stuck. I've rescued my share of Chevs and been pulled-out by a couple of Chevs in my day. The only difference between Chev and Ford is that the Ford driver says "I think I can make it" and gets stuck trying, and the Chev driver doesn't even try out of fear that he'll get stuck and have to be puled out by a Ford. 0 -

right... My hunting buddy would not play with his Z-71 out in the mud field the other day,but my F250 with lock hubs went right on in and I had a good time. The Z-71 went in and barely made it back out . I had a tow strap to help him out..0 -

That is a very good question. Unfortunately, there isn't an equally good answer to go with that question. I believe it has something to do with it not looking as deep, nor as mushy as the ground under the snow turned out to be.0 -

Sound as if there is more to the story. I remember one late night going back to college from Fred's ,(country barn) in SOuthern Illinois, the guys guys with me wanted me to squeal tires going around a corner. I told them it can't be done with dual wheels. I then decided to show them. Lost the tool box on the flatbed.
Another time I was going to fast on wet roads and sld a little around a curve. Smashed in the rub rail on the flatbed. Never would admit to dad how either one happened.0 -

sorry but that reminds me of the last time my wife did the same thing, but was in the middle of summer during a flash flood, she has drove down this stretch for 25 years, never noticed a ditch 4 feet deep, she saw other cars stall out ahead so decided to turn around, ya right onto a concrete spillway, left both back wheels in the air, i asked why would she do such a thing, did she think because the water was level so was the road0 -

you guys need to look closer , yes there are 8 row of 15 on each side and then there are 2 stacks of 10 on the back loaded the other way and having built pallets like these for about 20 years now and have weighed then several times i can tell you that they are that heavy and sometimes more depending on how wet/fresh cut the oak is but hey you want to call me a liar , feel free , right now there are several things i would love to type here but i wouldn't lower myself to your level doing that.
by the way the truck and empty trailer weighed on a cert. scale with me in it and just over 1/2 tank of fuel was 14,5000 -
aint' callin you a liar, just saying it didn't look like no 35,000 lb... but ok, pallets (19,200) + truck/trailer (14,500) adds up to 33,700 so I guess it's just how you look at it. sorry about that. 0
