Nugent & Zumbo

Just caught the "Spirit of the Wild" program where Zumbo gets educated on semi's.

I am now of the opinion that Zumbo just employed a bad cluster of words and it came back to bite him in the azz. I don't believe he slammed the 2nd Amendment on purpose and I think after what he has been through he may be a better, more educated choice to speak on our behalf than before.

I believe some need a second chance...Zumbo is one.

    I think he really meant it when he said it.

    I don't believe he considered for a moment the impact of his words on the gun control debate.

    Zumbo believes the 2nd is about hunting. Nuge is trying to educate him, I seen the episode, I still think zumbo believes the 2nd is for hunting. He just now thinks that semi's (or at least he would have us believe so) are good for hunting.

    Anyone who thinks Zumbo shouldn't get a break.....shure has a small mind. People make mistakes. He knows what he said was wrong. He has gone WAY out of his way to make up for his error. When the time comes and you want someone to give you a second chance.....eating crow should come to mind.

    Zumbo is too much of a plus on our side for people to just throw him out with no way of making up for his mistake.

    Several years ago I was on an Oryx hunt in New Mexico that Zumbo was on. We are not buds, he just happend to be a known face among a hundred others drawn for a very controlled hunt on the missle range. Zumbo commented that this hunt was has 157th hunt of the past 12 months. Zumbo is about hunting, he is mostly a bolt action snob, and truly had no clue anyone would use an evil assualt weapon for a "real" hunting purpose. I am certain he meant what he said, but said it in ignorance not malice. Time to move on guys, unless each of us wants to to be held to a never forgiven standard for a stupid or thoughtless post.
