Lets say I had a roommate. Then lets say he got him an enormous girlfriend that eats up all our food, drinks our beer, and loafs around the apartment making a mess when I'm at work. Would you mention it to him or just tell this manatee how it is.

Well, last Thursday, I was informed, through an MRI, that I have yet another herniated disc in my back. (L4-L5)This is my third time having this happen and have had to have surgery the previous two times. The last one left me with permanent damage to my sciatic nerve which causes constant tingling and numbness in my left leg. While it hasn't prevented me from doing my job, the pain is gradually getting worse and is starting to affect my right leg. Now, I have three choices, do nothing and HOPE it doesn't cause further damage and treat with pain meds, have an epidural steroid injection and HOPE it relieves the pain, or have a third surgery, which would require the fusion of three vertebrae and end my career. I am only 35, don't want to give up my job and sure as hell do not want to go on disability. Whatever choice I make, there is a good chance it will leave me with limited mobility and further nerve damage. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

OK Two nights ago wife sick and needed to go to the hospital. I called my mother to come sit with kids while we where off to the emergency room. About Midnight we get out and are on our way home. We stop by the 24 hr, Mc Donalds for a burger and head on. Within minutes of turning off the main road on our way to our rural farm a car comes flying right up beside me and stays right even with me door to door while Ilook in the rear view and there is another on my tail. I try to speed up and they match me the whole time easing toward me. I slow down they do the same so I floor it and get the jump on them and get in front of them. Then the scary part is they try this same thing only this time with my wife between us. Eventually when an on coming car comes they both turn off. Now I was not carrying at the time but I promised my self and my wife this would be the last. When she who is not crazy about the idea asked what I would have done differently I told her I would have stopped the car. And in the event they had stopped anyone who had gotten out of there car would have been fired upon immediately. I did not like the feeling of being hunted or prayed upon and I will be honest this scared the hell out of me. I realize there is a chance this was a car full of kids playing a prank but The thought of someone hurting my wife and never getting home to my kids is more than I am willing to bear. But I am curious if most of you where in this position what would you have done. PS I did call 911 but they never did show and there was now hwere I was willing to wait being unarmed.

Just earlier today one of my neighbors great danes got loose and came on my property. Not only that, their dog started chewing on my dog, and the neighbors did nothing to stop them. By the time I got to my SBH .44 it had ran away. Would I have been justified in shooting it? I would like to hear from some LEs on this subject. I live outside a small city, 8,000 or so. Don't know if this would make a difference.

Last month I won an auction for a used H&K USP Compact in 9mm. Shortly after receiving the firearm I was displeased to discover the entire firing pin assembly was missing. There was no mention of this in the item description.

I immediately contacted the seller through email about the problem. I asked the seller if he was aware of this problem. The seller responded shortly with "??????". I have since attempted to contact the seller again but every email I have sent has been ignored.

I can't understand why I am being ignored. This seller has exceptional feedback. Before I left my negative feedback there was only one other negative feedback for this seller. The negative feedback the seller had already, seemed to be a misunderstanding where the buyer received the wrong firearm. The seller responded to this feedback explaining that he had since resolved the problem by sending the buyer the correct firearm.

I have tried the "resolving problems with a seller" page, and it sent me on a wild goose chase without any results.

Is there anything that can be done or am i stuck with a non working firearm?

Thank you for your time. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Job/Career related

My status: I am 32 and the sole Process Controls Engineer at a large and very complex Corn Wet-Milling Plant. We produce 240+ different Starches (industrial and food), molecular and physical modification processes. Our facility is the pride of the North American plants. We grind, dry and pack out 4.5 Million pounds of starch a day. Treat 2.5MM gallons of water, generate power (650# Steam Turbine), 220,000 lbs/hr of steam, 5 - Medium Voltage (4160V) Air Compressors, 8 drying operations, a refinery, etc. Everything from 1200HP Medium Voltage to robotics to tiny animation. Think of me as the Med-Low Voltage Electrical/Software/Automation Engineer for the plant. Both Projects and sustaining. Without sounding too much like a douche, my future is pretty bright in my role and with my company.

    Now Back Story:
In October of last year we had a global meeting. All of my peers from the other plants got together for a week to meet with vendors, discuss standards, issues, network, etc.

One of the folks is the E&I project Manager for an expansion project in Nantong, China. Our company bought a small facility there in 2014 and we are expanding (equivalent to $30 million). He asked for help on the startup of the plant in the spring. It was to last 3 weeks March into April.

I volunteered and they asked me to visit for 2 weeks this winter to help set up and confirm proper programming, installation, train them on VFDs, etc. I spent 2 weeks there in mid-December. My role has quickly escalated from "support" to Full Controls Engineer for the project. They've handed me all things Automation and I return Friday for 15 more days. I have been assuming that my last trip (late March) will be my last, and will be for 3 weeks.

Last week my SVP visited and we were discussing the project. Me told me that on-top of the trips I've been planning, the start up will be 3 months.

Tori is not really happy with it and I don't want to live in that miserable place for 3 months. Brenly (my 6YO DD) rolls with the punches, it takes a lot to upset her and she's pretty much OK with anything. BUT, I've never been away for 3 months. At the same time, I can't turn my back to it and hand someone else all the work I've been doing (especially since they have no one else).

I would appreciate some thoughts and insight. I don't want to stall my career and this project is a big deal, both to the company and to my resume. It could also open up projects that need my help in Sweden and the Netherlands. I also have to keep in mind, that it may never stop and I could be travelling 6 months of the year for the foreseeable future.

Got a credit card bill in the mail today for a set of wheels. Looked it over real close, not my car, VIN, tag number not my truck. Tag and VIN goes to a vehicle of someone I know.
    What to do?
Go to his house and get my wheels?
Go to the magistrate and sic the cops on his sorry behind?
Deny the charge on the card and let the credit card folks go after him?
Not sure how he got my CC number and don't believe this is an honest mistake.
He can pretty much take me off his list of folks to call for bail money.

can't give an honest answer with out knowing what he did to betray your trust, it could be from stealing a tip you left for a waitress to hitting on or worse with your significant other, the answer should fit the crime

Assuming the violation of your trust was serious enough that you won't or can't change your mind -- and, since he doesn't get "I don't have time for you" -- try some variation on, "Get the hell off my property and don't set foot here again, or I will cut you into small pieces and teach my dogs to like the taste of human flesh." Actually, everything after "don't set foot here again" might be a little much, but I liked the sound of it.

If stain has not been completely removed when process is complete, repeat as necessary.

    Be very pleasant and smiley.

Tell him your friendship is for sale, and the down payment is $1000, with monthly payments of $250.

at one point he was a well trusted friend. then one night he, his girl, me and mine were all drinking and ...well, i'll let your mind wander...but nothing happened between the 4 of us.

about a week later, i was at work when he called to ask me about giving him a hand dropping a tranny on one of his cars when i heard his co-workers in the background asking if it was my girl on the phone and if he was going to "experience" her again and asking other personal questions about her bedroom etiquitte.

none of that ever happened and i was rather p.o.ed at the fact that he was talking to his buddies at work bragging that he had and was planning on doing it again. i told her about it after we got home from work that day and we didn't talk to them again, no calls accepted, didn't answer the door when they came by...nothing. then he just stops by. she's too short to look through the peephole in the door, so she opened the door to see who it was.

he tried for 2 hours last night to pry from us why we didn't call or visit or answer when they called. i was very brief with all my comments and tried to give him the impression that i was not in a good mood and that he should leave. for 2 hours i did this. and he didn't get the message. now he's making plans for us to come over and visit on thursday knowing full well that i can't because of my work hours. they are the kind of people that if you don't come over, they come to get you leaving you no choice but to go and shut them up. and no matter what plans you may have, if you don't include them they get all hurt that they weren't invited and tell you that 6, 7, 10 times in a single sentence.

how can you get someone to understand that if i haven't called you, haven't answered when you called, didn't open the door when you stop by and see both cars in the driveway, i don't respond to you in any way for over a year that i don't want to talk, see, hear or be in your general presence anymore? you should have gotten the message already without me having to offer and explaination.

they're not bad people, but they are "takers". they consume your every free minute and drag you into their soap opera world leaving you absolutely no time or energy to take care of your own affairs (pay bills or do housework ... anything) and EXPECT you to include them in every aspect of you life. their drama is all consuming and has gotten us into financial distress in the past. we end up spending all our time and money with or on them and their kids with nothing left for us.

a couple of you know my current situation and i can honestly say that i am under 200% less stress now than i was in the 5 years of freindship with them. i just want to make them go away. where's that calgon commercial when you need it?

Tell him straight up that the relationship ended when he started spreading rumors about your wife. Tell him not to contact you anymore. Some folks are too dense to catch a subtle hint. Tell him in a straight forward manner.

You just need to tell him that you no longer have any desire to associate with him. No need to go into details, he is not entitled to an explanation. Then make it clear that you do not want him contacting you anymore. Then shut the door. If he refuses to leave, call the cops.

I have always believed in honesty. However, when I was younger I had trouble telling friends or non friends how I REALLY felt about them. In my early 20's I changed and started being honest with people and not avoiding telling them how I really felt. If you do it in a respectful and honest way thats the best thing. I never avoid people and give them BS reasons why I didnt call them back for 6 months. I never give girls a BS reason why I dont want to date them. I tell the truth and hope the respect my feelings. If not, oh well.
Whatever reason it was that made you stop talking to this person just tell them. Who knows, maybe they have a good explination.

+1 Why in the world would you try to get rid of him without telling him why? Pretending you are in a bad mood for 2 hours makes no sense to me at all. If he was a friend he deserves it straight.

If he was a friend he deserves it straight.

I agree, give it to him right off, then if that doesnt work...

Answer the door with the 12 gauge. Pointed up at his face.. Dont say a word, when he turns to leave, slam it shut (The door).

Nothing said, nothing done. Hint understood. Doubt he would ever return..Or talk smack about the misses..

I am a guy who likes to lay his cards on the table, people don't like my hand, then they can deal with it. It cuts through all the crap to just be honest.
Tell the guy what really happened.

How is she responding to your shutting out these former friends?
Check your phone bill activity for the last few months.

after i told her what i heard on the phone....she was and still is all for complete severing of any ties to them. her first reaction was to punch him in the face...then not contact. she'd rather not associate with them at all.

other than the phone call, one of the last things for her was one instance when she was between jobs. she didn't work for about a month and we went over to visit one afternoon...

as it was getting time to go home because i had to work and so did they, THEY hatched the plan that since she wasn't working she would spend the night and get the kids up for school and stay the day until the kids came home and i got off work. they didn't even ask if she would or could, didn't ask if she had plans or interviews, just "oh..crystal will (not could) will watch the kids for us and you pick her up after work." they trap you into doing things and we just don't want to be in that world.
