S&W Model 642
Well, my mom just got her concealed weapon permit and I went with her to pick out her weapon. She decided on a Smith and Wesson 642. I'm not a huge fan of the hammerless revolvers but it's not about what I like. Overall it's a pretty nice gun. Just thought I'd let all of you guys know.

I think it is an excellent choice. I carried one off-duty for several years and stil carry a similar J-frame now. 0 -
She should be well pleased with her choice. 0 -
Just got one less than a month ago and I love it. Small ebough to fit in my pants pocket with no snags and just about as goof-proof as a gun could be. Good choice. I hope she'll enjoy shooting it and may she never, ever have to use it. 0 -
I have one that I carry most of the time. The thing I like the most is that the butt ugly hammerless design means that it can't get caught in a pocket, or pull the hammer back if I bump against something jumping off of equipment. It's very simple and dependable, but it's still ugly. 0 -
Yeah I like that hammerless design better than the humpback design though. I'd rather have one with a hammer because I love single action. 0 -
hammer-less is great for ccw, no snag, and can be fired through her purse or pocket if the need arises 0 -
Excellent choice your Mom made.[^] 0
