It sucks (the situation, not the rifle - the rifle looks awesome), but Israel was planning to let Barrett produce the Tavor in the U.S. for both the American domestic market and so it would qualify for U.S. military aid to Israel. I was looking forward to getting one of those and then BAM! The deal fell through![:(]
No tavor for us... damn it.[V]0 -
Useless if you're a lefty. 0 -
I think the US needs to adopt either the TAVOR or the British SA-80. The bullpup is a good design. 0 -
Zulu,
You ever have any experience with the SA-80? I've heard some off things about it, but you know how that goes.0 -

Crossed trained with some Brits in Kuwait and they didn't care for them. We traded weapons and headed to the range. I agree, I don't care for them either. The gas system is more finicky than the ARs.0 -

I like the smaller design and heavier weapon. The weight is behind the pistol grip which means your shoulder supports it more than your non-firing arm.0 -
Most bullpups are nearly unshootable for us left handed personnel. What are we suppose to use? 0 -
Hydrogen bombs.

The Brits are dumping their bullpup. They have had nothing but problems with it ever since they adopted it and the last "upgrade" done to it (by HK) will be the last one. They are ordering no more and are looking for a replacement. There are lots of reports on it online:

How much does the Tavor cost?
I would really like to have one and take it apart to see what it really is.
The one thing I don't like about bullpups is the extra linkage and moving parts to trip the fireing pin. I guess it is the same way some people didn't like the series 80 1911 when they came out. Just more extra parts and linkage equals more chance of failure.0
