Another of our highly educated kids.
We were at a wharehouse type grocery store yesterday and among the things we bought was a 24 can case of spaghetti sauce. The case was cut off low so it made a flat for the cans to sit in. The girl that checked us out was probably 20-25 years old and apparently did not know that she could count the cans down one side and count the cans down one end and multiply to get a total number of cans. She counted all the cans in the case, twice.

The way some kids are today,be glad she could count to 24.I hate those check out clerks that scan everything.Why don't they learn to scan 1 then change qty? 0 -

i had a guy ask for my drivers license when i handed him my BoA credit card, i told him it has my picture on it, he said he has to be sure because people could fake that, i could help but telling him if i was good enough to fake a picture credit card wouldn't i be good enough to fake a drivers license

Excellent point! I'm sure that that young woman was there at school everyday, rested and prepared, and that she was taking notes in class and paying attention, and the whole time the teacher was surfing the net, smoking a cigarette in the hall, sleeping, drinking, goofing around, etc. And, we all know that basic skills like multiplication are taught grades 2-7, so I'm sure that ALL of her teachers for ALL those grades were total and complete slackers.
Of course, maybe, just maybe, the young woman came to school to goof around, to chat with her friends, to flirt with boys, or maybe didn't bother to come to school at all.
Or maybe the woman had been specifically told by her boss to scan every single object to prevent people from hiding more expensive items in the midst of cheap ones.0 -

WADR, because students has the ultimate responsibility to learn and make the grade. It's not always the school system (or society) is at fault. BTW, learning never stops and it starts at home [^].0 -

When I went to School and didn't want to follow the rules I would receive an additude adjustment via the SWAT. I needed plenty of adjustments throughout mey school days.
I can only blame myself for what I did or didn't learn but these days are different.0
