New Wood Grips

Last night I was looking at a 22 revolver I have and didn't think the black plastic grips looked good anymore.
So I found a piece of wood and carved some new ones out.
I just got done putting the wood on.

  I woulda said "get a grip" but it looks as though you've attended to that. Nice wood work. What kind of wood is that?

  Great job! Is it possible to match the grain, and plug the screw holes?[;)] That would be cool. They do look great as is...

  Here are my tools.
  The wood is some curly maple I cut on my property for firewood a couple years ago but I kept a few chunks because I had a hard time burning such nice wood.
