SKS - Whats the deal???
I have noticed that I cannot find an regular SKS (not the M59 with the gernade attachment). Does anybody have the 411 on what is up with the regular SKS's? Where are they? I even cannot find any avaible on the wholesale avenues.

Actually, the Model 59 is the one without the grenade launcher.
The M-59/66 is the one with the launcher.
The importers/wholesalers ran out of 59s about 2 years ago.

What happens is that these guns are imported. And tend to come in and be plentyfull and cheap for awhile. Then the stores dry up.
I remember when Yugo 59/66's were rare and people would pay big bucks to get one. Then they came in, in droves and the prices fell to dirt cheap. Nowdays a N. Korean is the most sought after.0 -
These are all surplus. The flavor of the day is Yugo. Awhile back it was Chinese and Russian. Those were sold out long ago and no one is importing them now.
All these are used guns. No one is making new ones.0 -
I remember in the late 80s and early 90s the norincos were everywhere. Then the Albanians were plentyful.
Surplus firearms sales run out, especially when you get a 250.00 300.00 rifle for 89.990
