    My Family has been logging in the NW for over 100 years so I have a lt of old logging artifacts.
    I have newspaper articles from 1880 of m greatgreat grandpa and greatgreat uncle working the woods around here.

    I think you will find a S&W Mdl 16 is 32 caliber.
    If that is a 38 it probably is a Mdl 15

    Yep...... has to be a model 15 since it says .38 special on the right side of the barrel. Model 16's are very hard to come by since there were not alot of them made.

    That gun looks like its seen better days, but if it still has a tight action, you cant beat them for reliability. Since they are "K" frame guns, they will handle +P ammo.

    It appears to have very light surface scratches from plenty of carry use but under close inspection I can not find the slightest pit or rust.
    This 15 has THEE smoothest, lightest, crispest trigger of any revolver I have handled.
    I am going to the range today so I will try it out on a paper[8D]
