  I have a Marlin Golden 39A Mountie model, and I agree: it is one great plinkin' carbine!

  I have one of the very first 39a's with a microgroove barrel. It is actually dated 1952, but the ballard rifleing supposedly stopped in 1953[:)] I love it[:D]
