I dont know, I dont see why people would do that, its kinda cheating and stealing
I dont do it, i wont do it, i havent done it, nor do i know someone that has
Oh well, the people these days, theyll learn0 -
That is why I refuse to let "the thrill of bidding" control my bidding on an auction. I will bid untill it goes beyond what I am will ing to pay and then it is over. I don't look back!
I can honestly say that every auction I have won (here and Fleabay) I have gotten a good price on the stuff.
A couple items I did pay close to retail on but I did want them. My model truck collection (I have 1:54th scale trucks that are identical to every truck I have driven from all the companies I have worked for) has these. But I needed the trucks to complete my collection.
Every gun I have bought has been for less than I could have bought the same gun for here locally.
But I have seen auctions that I would gaurentee that there is shill bidding on. I have even bid on a couple of these and I qiit bidding and as soon as the auction ends the seller has e-mailed me to see if I still want the Item at my previous high bid. I refuse every time as I do not profess to be stupid and I know exactly what has gone on.0 -

I know what you're saying about the "thrill of bidding." I used to get caught up in that when I was collecting pocketknives. Just "had to have them" to add to a collection. As you mentioned, you "needed the trucks," I think that's where folks get burned. The drive to collect every available item of a kind or whatever can make someone blind to jacked-up prices and the "thrill of bidding." Now I've become much more sober and laid-back when it comes to online auctions. There's really nothing that I just MUST have...or "need."
Recently, I've started selling some of my guns--a good sign, I think, that I'm not desperately attached to anything I own.0
