went snowball snipeing
Snowing hard up here in southwest PA, went out with my .22,
and up to where i shoot which allots me up to 60 yards....
Its actually a bit of a challenge to hit a 6 inch snowball from 60 yards with a fogged up scope, and white out conditions but i did it! [8D] viability right now is about 100 yards id say. coming down pretty hard, I'm surprised how well i was able to nail this snowball every time i pulled the trigger, suppose the scope is sighted in well [:)]
anyone else ever do anything similar?

We have no snow, but I have found oranges,potatoes,grapefruit make great targets.I always check the old produce rack and buy the bad ones cheap.If I'm not going shooting for a few days I freeze the stuff.Usually shoot the frozen ones at a friends pistol range..357 hollow points vaporize an orange.Today got to try a new load for my 45/70 at a 1 inch steel plate swinger at 200yds.It makes a real satisfing thwack when hit.Load is nice no major recoil.Next Sunday we are having a buffalo shoot.The buff is about the size of a silhoute ram, but we are shooting at 285 yds.Here in CT thats about half way across the state.If any of us can hit the thing we are going to shoot a steel silhoute bucket, same range. the thing is a little smaller than a joint compound bucket. I can't hardly see that far. 0 -

Where i live in the winter you shoot snowballs and in the summer you shoot cow pies.[:D]
And i can't leave out, Stray cats are open season all year long.[:D][:D][:D]0 -
Sometimes around here in the coldest, deadest part of winter, I load up the .50 cal. and go out busting mosquitoes at 500 yards (w/iron sights, of course). Mostly we hunt'em for the meat (great in gumbo), but sometimes there's not much to harvest after a good belly shot.
