you know that big microwave thing the army came up with to fry people by heating their skin? how about a wall unit, set it on "low" to keep yourself warm in the winter.

Wood stoves and the other old fashioned ways of heating are so inefficient. This idea has potential, but radiation heating has such a stigma. 0 -
Maybe we should put a proposal together and take it to Mrs. Clinton, Pelosi, or Vice President Cheney. There might be some monies available as an alternative source of heating to reduce our dependency on foreign oil. 0 -
How about mount them on towers pointing at a city and adjust them so everyone will feel warm all the way through winter.

I'm not sure just how they done it, but my interest of the
last few years is induction heating. In my research I find they have
been using this technology for heat in the UK for quite some time now.
In the early 70's I worked in a machine shop near Chicago, and the owner
of the shop made an induction heating machine to ehat metal rods.
Really neat technology that works like a microwave, but instead of
working off the juices in the food, it works of the molecules in the

Now that you mention it, I think similar tecnology has been talked about for making glass bottles. The idea was a great big furnace and all the natural gas would be used. I'm not sure if it ever moved past the theory stage. I heard about it from a spaceball electrician. I thought it was pure BS but then I came an article on the internet. It was written by a guy whose head was in the clouds, well above me. It made little sense to me, but I think it was basically microwave heating. 0 -
