Done remodeling for now ...
Well after about 7 weeks of having the house in a remodeling mess, we're done for now ... here's a few before and after pix [:D]
We really like our home and where its located but the little woman was wanting something more open and more modern ... we looked at lots of new homes but realized making a transaction like that we would be putting about 25-30K into the pocket of the Realtors and probably another 5K in the pocket of movers ... plus all the hassle. So we decided to just put the equity into our current home!
Old kitchen and family room:

New kitchen and family room:

Old basement (big side) ...

New basement:

On the small side of the basement, we added a 8x12 3piece bathroom and a 8x12 walk-in closet ... and still have a 15x20 foot area to finish when we can get that space freed up from storage "stuff".
All told, we added 1070 square feet of finished area to the house ... We still have some furniture to move around, paint the basement walls (which we're going to do) and do something with the floor in the basement, probably a combination of tile and carpet ... but need to save up a few bottle-caps as we ended up going about 6K over "budget" as is.
