    Then we left.

    As Lefty said, the Coen Bros are different
    You should try:
    Blood Simple (things ain't so simple)
    Miller's Crossing (best gangster movie ever)
    Raising Arizona (parenthood can be tough)
    O Brother , where art thou? (for anyone with an ounce of country in his heart, the soundtrack is a killer)
    Among many others.
    They are my favorite producers , but i wasn't crazy about the ending either. Should have expected the unexpected.

    Coen brothers movies are not for everyone. They usually require a certain level of intellect and sophistication on the part of the viewer for them to be appreciated to the fullest. But don't give up on the cinema because of them...there are still the works of Jackie Chan, Eddie Murphy, and Jessica Simpson. Oh, if only those three would team up for a flick. What a blockbuster, or at least a major video! [;)]

His book has the same title and plotline.

    I wasted my time reading the book! Everything was there for a good story, I kept waiting for it to get good. It didn't. Even the book sucked.

    It really is a very well done movie, IMHO. At my age, I'm not insisting on "good endings" so much as an enjoyable journey. "No Country" represents an enjoyable journey to me. The evil is genuine, without a lot of exploding cars, etc. The good is solid, slow talking good--in the form of Tommy Lee Jones as the Sheriff. Resolution at the end? Is it necessary? I found the ending, in all its ambiguity, to be fitting for the film. I hope you'll check it out. I'm anxious for the DVD release so I can purchase it for my personal collection. It deserves another viewing or two.
