While that Imus looks like a first class butt head(I never really paid any attention to him before) Sharpton and the Reverend Jesse Jackson both need cyanide capsules.

I don't know about you, but I don't forgive Sharpton for his comments regarding the "rape" of Twana Brawley. I don't forgive Jackson for his comments labelling NYC as "Hymietown."

The apologies that they gave were too little, too late.

Imus is an ass, and that's the best description I can give of him. But, you're absolutely correct -- these idiots screaming "racism" are nothing more than a bunch of opportunistic hypocrites.

The only ones who have a right to be offended are the Rugters girls themselves. Anyone else claiming to be offended by what Imus said is being disingenuous.

You are right. The only prominent black who has spoken out against the mmisogynistic and violent rap music lyrics is Bill Cosby. He was ripped by other black leaders for doing this.
Imus the dumb ass was using rap music style lyrics in his characterization of the basketball players, by using the term "hos." Straight from rap music.

    What hypocrisy.

Let's not overlook the black communtity's frequent and public use of the words "honky", "cracker", "whitey", "the man", etc. as well. How many times has the white man or the LEO been killed off in the lyrics of today's music? Think that every lyrical reference to "ho" is made in the context of her being black? Not so. But I guess that's all different if a white man says it - right?

Al Sharpton's an "ex con" having served 90 days in NYC jail and Jesse Jackson's an adnmitted adulterer with an illegitimate child. IMO, there's not a whole lot there for our African American brothers to be proud of with these two "Svengalis" - no? Loud. Obnoxious. Holier-than-thou. Pompous. Do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do. Rabble-rousers, pure and simple.

Imus was flat-out wrong, but he has apologized and he will serve his 2-week suspension. I believe he has learned a very valuable lesson. But these two phonies hiding behind the bible continue to get away with whatever they want whenever they want courtesy of the double standard.

I agree with slowhand. Personally I'm sick of it and get very pissed when I see any of this poop. Equal means equal.

Another thing that ticks me off. Black "leaders", what the hell do they lead? Where they elected to be "leaders"? I watch the local black "leader" on the news almost every night here in Houston, talk down, and even threaten all kinds of people that did some "injustice". BET, negro college fund, Black panthers, ect.... ALL WRONG AND HYPOCRITAL! [:(!][:(!]

Even worse is other white people are faster to jump for these idiots then black people. Everyone I watch is so quick to say no no no I'm not rascist I have black friends. A piece of trash is a piece of trash no matter the color. Why can't America get over it? It's enough to make me want to puke.[V]

Not being able to use those words in a radio program would be like banning members here from calling each other idiots, morons and a-holes. How could the site survive?

Please don't think that I'm advocating FOR the use of those words/terms in ANY context. I was just merely pointing out that the measure of offense derived from their use currently depends on who is speaking them--and how much money is garnered from their use. That's what I find hypocritical--and abhorrent. Any society where certain words are OKAY only if spoken by one group but not by all groups is sick.

Does CBS Records have any ghetto-filth hip-hop "artists" under contract? Shouldn't those contracts be VOIDED also?[:0]
