I agree with MM on some level. The cost of medical care has skyrocketed. Something should be done about it, the question is what is the best answer. Don't even get me started on pharmaceutical companies.

I see no reason to pay money to see his personal opinion of the healthcare industry. Yes, it's a mess, but why pay to watch what he thinks about it. After his previous opinionated "documentary" efforts it looks like the public would catch on to his game. This is just another of his sad attempts to guide public opinion his way. Worthless, IMHO.

funny everyone complains about the pharmaceutical companies high prices, the r/d they have to go through and the dea on a daily basis, security, totally neglecting the fact that the pharmacies themselves have 400-1000 percent mark up, after it goes through several distributors, name 1 other retailer that has that mark up, most are lucky to get 100 percent

get this, if i was to loose a dea form i loose my job, no second chance gone, if i was to loose 10 cases of the actual drug, oxycontin, vicodin etc. it would come of of my check in a payment plan at wholesale price

Don't care to hear what some moron from Canada has to say about America. If he really wants to see a screwed up system, just look around his own country and why he is at it, Stay there.

The canadian health care system is a failed system. We see so many of them here in washington state. The canadians come here for fast reliable health care. As for pharmacies marking up prescriptions; Costco and Sams club as well as Walmart have the lowest prices on some medication and they still make a profit.

wal-mart, walgreens, and several stores as cosco, schnucks etc. also have their own distributors which cuts out a big middle man

Do you know how many medications they produce require a DEA form? Fewer than one percent. Pharmaceutical companies give a way samples like candy, pens, clocks, calculators, lunches, dinners and pay doctors to do surveys. They also advertise their products on national TV, which is dumb because no one watching can buy the product.

agreed, but man that 1 percent sure puts a cramp in the whole situation since it is all in the same order as non controlled, so logistically it doesn't matter it may as well all be controlled

I have to agree on this. I know the insurance and pharmaceutical companies are wallowing in filthy lucre. I don't need Michael Moore to tell me that. Of course, I'd be skeptical if he told me the sky was blue.

Feds don't mess around with narcotics, but outside of hospitals and pharmacies, not too many docs carry them; specialists maybe (you'd need something for a sygmoidoscopy (sp?) ).

I don't think they should advertise. Does anyone here really believe they know better than an M.D. or D.O about what medication they need? Hell, you wouldn't believe the crap I hear from patients at work. "I was on the internet and..." I really want to stop them and say, "Unless you have M.D. after your name, you need to be seen before you get your RX." Patients will drive you nuts sometimes.
